Hi,

It appears, that when printing PostScript from within Visio, wherever
elements contain text, the text comes out as broken/jagged bitmaps
instead of text rendered as PostScript fonts.

Lines and curves, including those of the boxes or frames surrounding
elements, do come out properly as vectors, though.

This happens here with a standard Microsoft Office Visio 2003
installation and both HP's LaserJet printer driver and Adobe's
Generic PostScript driver.

Is this a deficiency in Visio or a specific problem with a known
solution?

Thanks,
-- Tom

P.S. I have noticed this once with a Microsoft Word document printed
including change tracking, where the page was shrunk and balloons
were added to mark changes from the sides. I suppose this was
because Word uses Visio's display/printing engine to print such
documents.

I should perhaps note that this includes curved lines, which are
converted to PostScript curved vectors (splines/arcs). This makes
it more likely that the problem is specific with text.
