Tricky. Word stores the Ignore words in memory, NOT in your hard drive. So
theoretically if you quit Word, the list goes away - next time you startup
Word, it's gone.
However if you go to File -> Quit in Word you may not have actually gotten
rid of word.
For example, if you're running Outlook and you have it set to use Word as
an editor, even if you quit all instances of Word, Outlook will keep an
instance of Word running. So your Ignore words are not lost.
Sometimes Word plain and simply fails to actually quit and leaves a "ghost"
Word behind. Going to File -> Quit doesn't *always* ensure Word has quit.
Do this: After you quit Word, go to Start -> Run -> taskmgr, enter. This
will start up the Task Manager. Go to the Processes tab. If you see one
called "WINWORD.EXE", Word is still running. You can right click on it and
kill it.
After you kill Word, if you restart Word, your list of Ignore words should
have been forgotten.
If you just want your list of Ignore words to go away, you don't have to
quit Word though. Just go to Tools -> Options -> Spelling and Grammar ->
Recheck document, and that will refresh the Ignore Words list.
