Hi,

We are looking at creating a custom dictionary and exclusion list before we
rollout Office 2003. One thing which would be hepful is to be able to view
the default UK english dictionary which Word uses to check against. I
understand its a .lex file which is a compressed binary file.

I don't want to edit it but viewing it would be handy. Is this possible with
any type of editor/file viewer?

thanks

Michael

I guess your real question is, will I make any sense out of what I'll
see ... No one can prevent you from opening any file with a hex editor ...

No, the spelling list is considered intellectual property. So we don't
provide a way for you to dump the lex.
