Archived from groups: microsoft>public>outlook>general (more info?)

Is there a way to turn off the "new mail" sound AND the little envelope icon
that appears in the bottom corner of my Windows screen when I have new mail?
(I am using Outlook 2002.)

Yes, look in Options, Email Options, Advanced email options.

I have tried this in OUtlook 2003 and the alerts are still showing, cleared
all checkmarks, including the sound and cursor setting. Any thoughts?
