This is the most annoying thing I have ever seen in my life. Word keeps
moving around figures and objects and snapping them to the top or bottom
margins. Can I stop Word from moving my pictures?

Have you specified text wrapping of something other than 'in line'
Have you somehow attached your graphics to headers or footers
What version of Word are you using

Word 2003. The graphics are set to 'square'. They are actually snapping
into the headers and footers, not where I place them. I place them
someplace, and they fly somewhere else.

Right click the object, go 'format picture' (or object or whatever), then
select the layout tab, then select 'on top of text'.

this always sorts this problem out for me
