spell checking doesn't work properly

Hi,

Windows XP running Word 2000

When I perform a spell check on my document, it goes through the document
fine. When I press spell check again immediately after the first spell
check is complete, it tells me "the spell and grammer check is complete".
The thing is, I can see that some of the words are misspelled because I
pressed the Ignore button the first time it asked me to change it.

If I type in new words, it will check the new words but not go through the
document again. Is there a way to fix this? Any help is appreicated.
