hi all

we're using rtf templates for automatic replacements and conversions

after installing the service pack 2 for office 2003 it is now not
possible anymore to save valid rtf files
in word everything seems to be allright, but after converting the rtf
file with a special tool, all images are gone

this problem does not exists on another workstation without any
service packs
it is also possible to re-open the broken rtf file on that
workstation, just save again and when converting all is fine. but that
should not be the right solution...

does anyone know something about this problem, and how to solve it?

thank you

thank you for your reply

unfortunately that didn't worked
i even tried to copy the whole TextConv folder from a working computer

the "Word 6 converter for Word" from your site broke the layout of our
rtf templates

i think their must be something other

i did some research

the problem only exists if the image is in the headline or the footer

but anyway if i reopen the rtf in word the image appears correctly
but if i convert the image using Ted and ghostscript to a pdf file,
the image is gone

i tried the workaround to just move the image from the headline to the
body part, but it seems not to be possible for Ted to put the image in
the background so that text in front of the image is still there

The converter may have fallen victim to Microsoft's enhanced security. You
can either copy the old filter from the unmodified PC or download the old
converter from my web site - which *may* do the trick.

What did you mean by 'all images gone'? Can you provide more detail?
I have run some tests here and saving as RTF does not eliminate any graphics
from the output file - and that's with a copy of Word 2003 that is patched
up to date.
