When invoking the print dialog (using Ctrl-P for example) from within the
MS-Outlook Inbox, the printer drop-down list is greyed-out in the print
window that appears. In order to select the printer to use, do a page setup,
or style setup, one has to switch Print Style from Memo (print a specific
item) to Table (print a list of the items) in hand.
This characteristic is in my experience common between MS-Outlook XP/2002
and MS-Outlook 2003, at least in their Greek versions and can prove quite
annoying in practice.
a) This bug, this restriction, is not enforced at all times. It seems not to
apply when requesting to print the message delivery reports for example. On
another occasion, messages that display this restriction when viewed in the
Sent box of the originating PC can be normally printed from the receiving
PC’s Inbox. Yet, other messages sent between the same two PC’s display this
print dialog restriction consistently.
b) All appropriate service packs have been applied to both the OS
(MS-Windows XP Pro) and MS-Office.
