Guess I will just have to roll back to version 7.

....and hope it still works. I've seen reports where it will not work either.

well anyways I tested a roll back on a test pc, and it worked fine.
Here's to hoping it will work for the rest!

Good to know. You're doing better than some of the fax developers who can't
get it to work. I have noticed that some of the Internet Fax providers such
as Venali are able to render PDF to TIF on the local machine, but I don't
know if they've been successful with 8.0

The biggest limitation I found so far, is that the users must be power
users, otherwise they get the generic "failed to print" error....
My problem with internet fax services is the cost per page, we are a
small company, with relativly high faxing needs.....

I know. I wasn't suggesting you use Internet Fax, just that Venali's
developers have apparently figured out how to render PDF files to TIF
programmatically, so there may be other ways to do it.

BTW any ideas about getting faxing to work for a standard user?
The problem is not related to pdf, I'm getting an error when faxing
any attachment as a standard user. If you need the exact error let me
know and I'll post it.

To specify security settings

1.. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware,
and then click Printers and Faxes.
2.. Hold down the CTRL key, right-click the required fax printer, and then
click Properties.
3.. To set general printer permissions, click the Security tab.
4.. To set specific fax printer permissions, click the Fax Security tab.
5.. To set advanced fax printer permissions, click the Fax Security tab,
and then click Advanced.
6.. From Group or user names, click a user or group you want to set
permissions for.
If a user or group does not appear, click Add, and type the name of the
user and then click OK to close the dialog box.

7.. In Permissions, click either Allow or Deny to change permissions.
