My .pst file is corrupted and outlook2000 won't start anymore. I ran
scanpst.exe several times, each time I got the error message "Due to an error
the program can not complete. Some changes might be made in the file". The
file got corrupted due to installation of ActiveSync for outlook2003 on the
pc. Only days after using regular use of outlook2000 and AS2003, the software
popped the message of the incompatibility issue. By then it was too late. I
have backups that go back 5 days, but as all the backup files are also
corrupted, I can't restore. What else can I do to get my mails back?

Your .pst file got corrupted due to software installation. Scanpst.exe file is not able to solve this problem. Then you can try outlook pst repair tool to solve this type of problems. Outlook pst repair software scan corrupted .pst file and restore information in a new .pst file.
You can recover your mails, contacts, notes, journals, tasks, and calendar by using outlook pst repair software. So many outlook repair tools are available in the market. First try demo version to test the utilities, if satisfied get full version to restore them.

| May be your pst file get corrupted due to the software installation.You can try Stellar Phoenix pst repair software.This software helps me to recover all my corrupted pst file.This software demo version is free in which you can see the preview of your recoverable file. |

Yeah, sometimes it happen that after running scanpst.exe, you will not be able to repair corrupted PST file. Scanpst.exe is not good enough to fix all the problem related with PST corruption.
In this situation you need a third party outlook pst repair software which is good enough to repair pst file which has been corrupted due to any reason and it also doesn't depend how worst the corruption is whereas it repair any kind of corrupted pst.
very simple and easy to use which doesnot require any technical knowledge to handle software. i hope you will solve this problem and again work with your Outlook 2000
