Hi all,

When I open a Word 2004 document for Mac document in Word 2003 the spelling
and grammar gets disabled. But when i check the in the options it is
enabled.

I tried on another computer with office 2003 no issues.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Giri

How do you know the spelling and grammar are disabled? If you press F7, what
happens?

Click in a word you know is misspelled. Go to Tools/Language/Set language.
Which language is selected for this text?

Hi Cindy,

Thank you very much for your response.

When I open a Word 2004 for mac document and click on tools- the spelling
and grammer check is disabled.

I tried the F7 key and nothing comes up.

The language seleted is English (US)

Thank Girks

And the spelling check works on other documents on this machine? I only ask
because what you describe sounds as if it weren't installed...

What about Tools/Options/Spelling and Grammar?
