it self-corrected after 2 days for some unknown reason - maybe there is a
virus lurking somewhere?

Hi All,

I got a solution and my issue was resolved. Firstly close outlook and make sure you go into task manager, processes tab and end the process outlook.exe file as well if there is one. Then Follow the path in your computer

C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

In the outlook folder, rename all the files with ext. .ost and then start the outlook 2003 again.

Do an advanced search for *.ost in all files & folders, including system folders.
Close outlook2003, rename or delete the *.ost file found, reopen Outlook2003
