evan,
I'm assuming that by the term "word documents," that you mean
Word created html pages? That what this forum is about?

Once you have created a html from page from Word, you may then (if you have
taken precautions to reduce the bloated html) insert most anything you
desire with a simple text editor or html editor.

Whether you may insert Flash directly from within Word prior to creating
html pages is not something I may advise you on.

In the event that you have NOT taken precautions to reduce the Word bloated
html than you should keep two things in mind?
1) You've reduced that market share of visitors that may view your pages by
using an inept tool, Word.
2) You reduce the viewable market share even further by implementing Flash.

There are many instances that we would want to do that. To try something, when in a rush, etc... and I can think of many more.

I think the question is valid and should be answered., no judgements. I feel as if the answer iis directing the person to be forced to use some piece of software he/she may not have or want to use at this moment.

And the answer is yes, although it is a little convoluted. Search and find, the answer is out there and very explicit.
