Faxing through fax machine

Have an all-in-one Printer-Scanner-Fax connected to Windows XP machine via
USB, and to phone line. Can Outlook send faxes through this device, or does
it only support fax modems on the COM ports?

Outlook uses the fax services provided my the OS, which only use analog fax
modems on the OS' HCL list.
