One of our users can select to use the helvetica font on Word 2003 but the
fonts is not listed under \\winnt\fonts. Another one of our users need this
font in Word 2003. I compared both PCs and they seem to have the same
software installed. Am I missing something here; can anyone tell me what
software or something loads the helvetica font on the PC.

Thanks.

The helvetica font was probably automatically installed
when the user printed to a post-script printer. This only
happens when the printer is the default printer (hard to believe,
but true!!). If the user just changes the print location in word
without making the printer the default printer, the font does
not get installed.

The following should work to Helvetica installed in word:
1) set default printer to a postScript printer which contains the
Helvetica font (under control-Panel>printers)
-> a xerox department copier printer works for me
2) open up word and print to a document
3) close word and open it up again and you should now see
the Helvetica font on the word font selection
