Archived from groups: microsoft>public>word>application>errors (more info?)

The error is caused by a corrupted table of contents. Numerous tables
within the document can also trigger a problem in word's XML file. I
have a non-techie solution (2 fixes actually) that can help any lay
person work around this problem and recover their document without
having learn how to edit an xml file. See
