Archived from groups: microsoft>public>word>drawing>graphics (more info?)

If you copy and paste a photo from Word to another program, the photo
becomes dithered to less than 256 colors. You can enlarge the view and
screen cap to extract the images at its full resolution and colors but
it's a lot of work. I tried save to web but it uses the resolution in
the document instead of the original resolution.

Is there a way to extract photos in its original resolution and
colors?

Great tip! Thank you. Never thought of draging it to desktop. One
extra step to get the image at its original size: before dragging it
to desktop, double-click the image to open Format Picture dialog box.
Clcik "Size" tab and change the scale to 100%.

If not, you get the image at the size scaled down.

If you use the html process described in the article, all of the images in
the document will be extracted at there original size and resolution.
