excel "save as" command does not work

Archived from groups: microsoft>public>excel>misc (more info?)

When trying to use the "Save As" function Excel shuts down.
I thought it was because of using an older version (2000) so I went and
bought Office 2003. This did not fix the problem and only caused me more
problems with Outlook.
