so i was trying to do something in excel, and it crashed,
which doesn't really bother me that much, since document
recovery should work... but, when i try to start excel
again, it crashes without showing me anything in the
document recovery pane, or opening a blank workbook like
it used to... as in, it maximises as all grey, with the
document recovery pane(also grey, w/o any text), and
immediately crashes. i think it might have something to
do with a corrupt recovery file, but multiple reinstalls,
and deletion of the recovery directory hasn't helped...
any suggestions? please reply to this account. thanks. |

Try deleting the menu settings file. Search for ".xlb" without the quotes
and delete this file.'

Hi,
You may try an Excel file recovery tool called Advanced Excel Repair to repair your Excel file. It is a powerful tool to repair corrupt or damaged Excel files.
Detailed information about Advanced Excel Repair can be found at http://www.datanumen.com/aer/
And you can also download a free demo version at http://www.datanumen.com/aer/aer.exe
