I want to add members in my address book to a new distribution list. However,
when selecting members, outlook takes me to global address book. The concept
behind a global address book is great, BUT all I want to do is to select from
the list of contacts in my outlook addressbook. Also, I want the distribution
list to be kept local on my pc.
So, question is, how do I make the contacts in my addressbook (or the
addressbook in my PC) visible? Also, the "show names from the" drop down list
doesn't include my addressbook.
I know that the other solution is to just bite it. Once the list is made, I
won't have to do it again. .. Well BOY! You can say that again for each time
I created one (probably over 30).
thx in advance |

Right-click your Contacts folder, choose Properties, select the Outlook
Address Book tab, and check the box labeled "Show this folder as an e-mail
Address Book". Click OK. Your COntacts folder will now appear in the "Show
names form the" drop-down.

Hello Brian;
I have just started using O/L 2007 in Vista. The box that you refer to is
grayed out so I cannot select it. When I follow the help instructions they
indicate to go to tools - address books - select O/L address book and then
click remove. When I do this the remove button is grayed out. It will not
allow me to add a new book either. Can you help?

No need to post so many times.
