I have two versions of word on my PC, one in english and one in
swedish.
Couldn't I take the *.lex from the swedish version and copy that into
the english. I should somehow be able to spellcheck in either language.
I have tried to do this but to no avail.
Any suggestions as I don't really want to run two full versions.

The Swedish version of Word includes (UK) English spell check, too.
Just
make sure that you set the language correctly for the document.

Note that for the English version, you'll need Office Proofing Tools,
though.
