Archived from groups: microsoft>public>outlook>contacts (more info?)

I want to add the gadget to my Windows Vista Home Basic Taskbar that is
labeled "Contacts", but cannot figure out how to add and or edit the contacts
to it.
Are the contacts taken automatically from my Outlook contact listing, or do
I have
to manually add them to the gadget? Just want to find phone #s, email
addresses, etc. easily from the Taskbar, if possible.

AFAIK, they are just a view of your default contacts folder. Any editing would probably need to be done in your OUtlook contacts folder, but I don't use that gadget on the one machine that has VIsta on it.

Don't know if you've found the solution, but I was frustrated as well trying to add a contact. Found out how to add a contact though and it isn't related to Outlook. It's a seperate application and as it turns out is really easy to add new contacts.

Click the Vista start button, then from the Start menu click your computer name in the upper right and your computer folder will open. You should see Contacts in the folder along with Desktop, Documents, Pictures, etc, etc. Double click Contacts and add new contacts to your hearts content.
