We are using Windows XP Hoem Edition with Word 2000. We cannot get word to
check the grammer in a document - the option is grayed out under tools. I
have read previous discussions and followed several steps to resolve this
issue including the document, WD97: Spelling, Grammar Not Available in Word
Running on Window 2000 or Windows XP - which these registry keys were not
available, as well as uninstalled and reinstalled Word. Any suggestions.

Have you tried going to Tools - Language - Set Language, and checking to
see if "Do not check spelling and grammar" is checked?
