I just upgraded to word 2007. My spell check works but it's dictionary
doesn't contain most common words like what; how, when, etc. It offers
alternatives to my spelling with words I've never heard, like a foreign
language. Could it somehow have been set up to something other that
standard English?

If so, how do I correct that? Thanks.

Here's an update. After looking further I find my Word spell check is OK.
It is only my Outlook Express spell check (which uses Word) that is the
problem. I used Tools... Options... Spelling (tab) and find I now show
French for the Language there. If I click on the arrow to the right of that
window I would expect a drop down menu to allow me to select English U.S. .
The only selection there is French. Any ideas? Since this is primarily at
Outlook Express problem I have posted there also.

Go to word options, then Addins, in the drop dorp box called "manage" chose disabled addins.

You should find spell checker is disabled, click enable and off you go!

Any other questions then please get in touch via our website hudsonhill.co.uk.
