Hi,

In Word 2003, when you open Word, on the right side of the screen,
there was a window that allowed you to click on recent documents or
look for other documents (I can't recall the name of the window), but
that window is not available by default in Word 2007. Is there a way
to have the window as a default in the opening of Word 2007?

Thanks
Charliec

That task pane does not exist anymore in Office 2007. The functionality
is now contained in the menu that pops up when you click the Office
button.

I think you're talking about the Getting Started task pane. As Patrick
indicates, that task pane is history. The closest functionality you'll get
in Word 2007 is to click the Office button, then New. Unlike the Getting
Started pane, W2007's New Document feature is a [large] dialog box. But,
it's from here that you access different templates -- installed (i.e.,
Microsoft), My templates (ones you create), as well as a fairly good method
for accessing online templates.

When you open up Microsoft Office Word, click the office button, and you will have a list of recent documents. Very Happy
