Hi
Does anyone know if there is a bug in word 2003? The spell checker
seems to be working randomly. For example in one document it allowed
the following words to be spelt incorrectly:-
Quotring
Helwd
trhey
Yet in the next document spell check picks the mistakes up.
Additionally, the same document can find a spelling error in one
paragraph and yet the same incorrectly spelt word will go unchecked in
another paragraph.
Any ideas?
Thanks

In the document where this occurs, press Ctrl+A to select all of
the text, click on Tools | Language | Set Language | <choose your
language> | uncheck the "Detect language automatically" and "Do
not check spelling or grammar" boxes | Default | OK. Then press
F7 to rerun spelling and grammar checks.

I did run into (rare) situations where the Spell Checker did not perform
as expected, in a very obvious way. Closing Word and restarting it took
care of it. Unfortunately, I cannot pinpoint that behavior to a specific
event.
