Excel 2003 SP2

Cell E2 of template "P" has validation (=List) and drop down list (=Clienti) into the cell itself.
In this sheet there is the named range "Clienti" pointing to a list into another workbook @
='\\Ntserver\MEREGHETTI\DATI EXCEL\Conteggi\[Listino.xls]CLIENTI'!$A$4:$A$60

With a macro, I create a new workbook through the template "P" and then I open the workbook "Listino.xls" to make the selction possible. At the time of the creation the drop down list of cell E2 works and I can select a value from the list but when I subsequently open the new workbook after I saved it and closed it, the drop down list does not appear any more.
I did some testing and I can say that:

1 - it seem that that does not always happens from the first time I open the new sheet after closing it

2 - I've not being able to record a reproducible behaviour

3 - I've tried the "update links" and the "change origin" in the "links" page of the Edit menu but even here I didn't always see the same behaviour.

4 - All my files are on a server through a wired LAN and not on the PC I'm working on. As you can see, I tried to use UNC paths everywhere because I noticed that Excel changes the way it shows you a link according to the folder it considers it as active at the moment. You can see that in the recenly opend documents list at the bottom of the files menu.

I'm lost.

Thanks for listening
