Triple letters

At random intervals, when I'm typing, Word 2007 prints three of the same
letter when I touch a key (i.e. Word ppprints thhhree of the sssame
leeetter). Word also seems to be going non-responsive pretty regularly. Any
thoughts you have would be great.

I presume you mean it display triple characters. It sounds like either the
keyboard is wearing out or the repeat delay setting has been change to
something dramatically short (Control Panel, Keyboard) or possible (less
likely) the BIOS setting.

I am finding the same issue in Microsoft Word 2007. It has just happened at least 3 times in the last hour. It randomly triples the first 2 letters of a word that I am typing (or maybe not randomly but I can't figure out the pattern). Then it selects that word and starts scrolling up. Then sometimes (not all the time), it freezes up Word 2007. It doesn't freeze my computer - it just freezes Word 2007, and I have to go into Task Manager to kill the Word. I am running Windows Vista on a Lenovo laptop. And I have also turned the repeat delay to the longest possible setting in Control Panels. Does anyone know if this is a virus or if there is a patch for this? Thanks!
