How do I FORCE Spellex to check only what I have highlighted/marked?

Please reply by e-mail.

You should ask Spellex. Spellex is not a Microsoft product.

In the spellchecker that comes with Microsoft Word and Microsoft
Office, if you select part of your document and press F7 to run
spellcheck, the spellchecker will check only the selected text,
and then a dialog box pops up and says, "Word finished checking
the selection. Do you want to continue checking the remainder of
the document? Yes No".
