I've seen that same recalcitrance using different display drivers. Because
Word uses display drivers in a particular way, it can become confused
sometimes about exactly what's at the cursor when you right click. I haven't
seen the problem now since upgrading to my new computer (running Vista
Ultimate). When I did have the problem (Vista Ultimate on a 3 year old
computer), a work-around (for me, anyway) was to click on the word with the
left mouse button before trying to right-click.
