Archived from groups: microsoft>public>word>spelling>grammar (more info?)

I am using MS Word 2000. I am editing/proofing a long document that has
been transferred to my computer from another computer via a jump drive. My
Spell Check won't catch errors. I checked my settings and they are ok. I
also brought up another document and deliberately misspelled a word; it
caught that word.
Can anyone give me a clue?
Thanks,
Julie

G'Day Julie,

With the document open, Edit>Select All
Use Tools>Language>Set Language to check what language is
set for the document.

.... and by the way - you would be well advised not to publish your
e-mail address in a NewsGroup `[:-{
