I did research and did not find this question anywhere.

Example phrase: American Certified Public Accountants

In an instance, the "L" in "Public" was omitted accidentally. Now, of
course, Word would not consider that word "Pubic" as a mispelled word because
it IS a word.

How would I get Word to check specific PHRASES? Is this possible?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

There isn't any way to make Word check phrases automatically. However,
assuming you don't write medical text and would want Word to alert you
whenever it finds "pubic" in your documents, add that word to an exclusion
dictionary. Instructions are at
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/ExcludeWordFromDic.htm.

An afterthought, but maybe useful:

Whenever you have a long phrase that you type repeatedly, store it
(after double-checking its spelling) as an AutoCorrect or AutoText
entry. For example, the phrase "American Certified Public Accountants"
could be assigned as the value of an AutoCorrect entry named "acpa".
That would banish the typo permanently.

I appreciate your help. The only problem with that is everyone would have to
do that (office of 50 ppl). Also this particular document I was working on
was copied and rolled over from a previous year. So was not typed. I do use
the autocorrect often though. I though of that. Smile

Again, I appreciate all of your help. Thank you!

Phrase checking is one of those things we'd like to do, but because it is so
difficult, have not been able to make it reliable enough. We're still
working on it.
