Well, you can add them to the QAT and/or assign a keyboard shortcut.
"File" button, Word Options, Customize. Choose "All commands" then look for
"Hide Grammar errors" and "Hide Spelling errors". Then click "Add" to put them
on the QAT. The button for creating keyboard shortcuts is in this same dialog
box.
