Is this functionality in the works? As our database grows in size and
importance an automated backup or mirror becomes more a necessity than
luxury.

Create a backup bcm command file to run the backup (e.g. using sqlcmd
or osql, this post has the info necessary:
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.outlook.bcm/msg/b6bdc4...aff728e).

Then go to control panel Task Scheduler, and set the backup bcm
command file to run regularly.
