I have some old text files created with the IBM graphic characters and at
one time I found a Word font that supported those graphic characters. I
can't find anything on my XP version that seems to support those characters.
Does anyone know of a font I can use that will have those characters?
Thanks,
Bill

The glyphs you seek are found in the Arial, Times New Roman, and Courier
New fonts as well as some others. They are termed the "Box Drawing"
sub-set. One way to access them is through Word and Insert Symbol
dialogue.

Not much can be said about how to convert the documents you have to use
these fonts or how to create new documents using them unless you want to
let us know some more particulars about what you want to do. The usual
way of creating the same effects is to use the in-built drawing features
of the programme rather than ASCII characters as was done in older
text-based applications.

I think if you have a text file and import it as "Encoded text > US OEM" or
something like that, Word will replace the box and line drawing characters
with the corresponding Unicode characters.
