Hi,
I have an HTML signature file which I use with my outgoing emails. This
file contains a couple of images.
We were with outlook 2005, which automatically embedded any 'local' images
to the email, so the recipient could see them.
We have just upgraded to Office 2007. For some reason, Outlook 2007 does
NOT embed these images, but simply leaves the link as c:\whatever.
Obviously my recipients are not going to have these files on their PC's!!!
Anyone got any ideas? If I create the signature manually in outlook then it
seems to work OK, though when you look at the HTML it generates it's really
not what I'd call HTML! Still I really can't see why it can't do the same
thing that outlook 2005 did, ie automatically embed local images within the
html. We have a system centralises the generation of signatures and changes
them regularly, so performing the signature changes manually on each persons
outlook really isn't an option.
Help gratefully accepted!
Dale. |

| Dale,
Did you get this figured out? If not, let me know. I figured out how you can install your html signature in outlook 2007. It takes a little bit of tinkering, but it's not to hard.

Assuming you have created signature files with text and/or images and saved them in html format, here are the steps to follow so you can use such a signature in outlook 2007:
1. Open the folder Documents and Settings, next
2. open the folder with your username, ex., "Paul", then
3. open the folder Application Data, then
4. open the folder Microsoft, then
5. open the folder Stationery.
6. copy or move all your signature files in html format to the Stationery folder.
7. Open outlook 2007, go to
8. Tools, then
9. Options, then
10. Mail format, then
11. Stationery and Fonts, then
12. Email signature, then
13. Theme, then
14. from Choose a Theme,
15. highlight to choose your signature file. this will be your default signature file until you go through steps 7 through 15 again to select a different signature.
16. click OK 3 times to back out to your main outlook screen.
17. create a new email message and see your signature be there.
please let me know if this solution works or not.
thank you. |

Thanks, works fine for me.
Destination for files to be copied you mentioned is valid for XP.
For Vista it is Drive:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Stationery
But I concern myself in that I cannot add signature in case of reply - possible only with copypaste... Any advices? WBR |

You can also try this trick/workaround: http://www.emailsignature.eu/phpBB2/cannot-embed-images-in-outlook-200...921.htm
| Quote: |
Add this value to the registry, and your images will be embedded:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Options\Mail]
"Send Pictures With Document"=dword:00000001
If you use Office 2003, the key is ...\office\11.0\... instead. |
