Outlook 2007 doesn't recognize meeting invitation

I have a strange problem.

I am using Outlook 2007 with my IMAP email server. Whenever I get an invitation Outlook 2007 do not understand it as an invitation , rather it shows reply, reply all and forward options just like an email message.

I don't see any option for Accept, Deny etc.

However if I use Thunderbird , I can see an iCal attachment of the invitation.

Is there any setting in Outlook 2007 that should be altered to change this behavior? I am specifically using Outlook as the Calendar syncs will my iPhone perfectly. Question

Any help is appreciated.

I am having the same problem, although it's not consistent. Sometimes it works and other times it does what you explained, comes across as an email message, not an invite message. I tried testing with another person, but every attempt worked correctly. Have yet to figure this one out. I'm very interested to hear a solution.
