Outlook 2007 Preview Attachments Stopped Working

Previewing attachments was working fine and then just stopped. I get the
message, "This file cannot be previewed because of an error with the
following previewer:

Microsoft Word or any other program.

I ran detect and repair and still no good. I read some older posts that say
removing Google Desktop can solve this but I don't have this installed.
I'm running Outlook 2007 in VMWare Fusion and have installed all updates.

Hope someone has some info on this problem.

Same problem.
Other posts have indicated this is a conflict with Google Desktop indexing.
But, we don't use that app and we're experiencing the same problem on
several workstations.

Is there a group policy to change perhaps?
any other suggestions?
