First: I'm using Outlook 2007 on Windows XP.

I had three messages marked for followup (I really like this feature). Through my own stupid error, I managed to corrupt the PST datastore. I ran SCANPST, opened Outlook, and most of my messages were there. However, all of the messages I received in the past two weeks were gone (including the three I had flagged). Luckily, I had a backup datastore and was able to attach it and recover all of my missing messages (whew!).

Now, however, I have three items in my followup folder that point to messages that do not exist. When I click those items, I get an error dialog that states the message cannot be found. That is fine; I expect it after the near miss crash I just recovered from. Unfortunately, I cannot remove those items from the flagged folder. If I right-click and choose "delete" nothing happens. I cannot clear the flag since the item does not exist. I attempted flagging the same message after I recovered it and then removing the flag (hoping Outlook would remove both the good and bad items from the flagged folder). That did not help. I ran SCANPST on the datastore and that did not help. Now, I'm pretty much out of ideas.

How do I remove an item from the flagged items folder if it is pointing to a message that does not exist?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

if your file is corrupted, you can try a popular Outlook recovery tool called Advanced Outlook Repair to repair your PST file. It is a powerful tool to recover messages, folders and other objects from corrupt or damaged Microsoft Outlook PST files.

Detailed information about Advanced Outlook Repair can be found at http://www.datanumen.com/aor/

And you can also download a free demo version at http://www.datanumen.com/aor/aor.exe

You can recover your mails, contacts, notes, journals, tasks, and calendar by using outlook pst repair software. So many outlook repair tools are available in the market. First try demo version to test the utilities, if satisfied get full version to restore them.
