Outlook 2003 prints only the body and not the header infor..

I'm having the same problem printing received emails. On some HTML emails
the header information prints normally, but on others the printed form goes
right into the message body skipping the header info. I believe this problem
started when IE7 was installed as I haven't seen it on machines that still
have IE6. In all cases Word is not being used as the email editor. It's just
Outlook.

I don't have an answer to this yet.

Thanks but no, unfortunately it has nothing to do with displaying original or
reply text, that prints, what doesn't print is the headers.

I'm also having the same problem with IE 7 please let me know if anyone finds
anything at all and i will do the same if i find any information.

It's IE7, we're seeing it across the firm since the update went out.

its definitely IE7 there are so many people (not just in these forums but
also in others across the net) having the same problem - me too.

Microsoft are exceptionally quiet on this front. the only known solution
i've seen is to uninstall IE7 & go back to IE6. i hae tried other fixes ie
re-editing HTML back into plain & then putting back to HTML - this works
sometimes - but sometimes not & is very time consuming.

Is it possible it is a hotfix that may be included with IE7 and that clients
are downloading to install via windows update without installing IE7?

I only ask as I have the same issue popping up, however IE7 has been banned
from installation. So in my case its not IE7.

I have this problem too and it only occurred after fully installing IE7.
After rolling back to IE6 the problem cleared.

It seems to be only isolated to HTML messages.
If you select more than one message at a time and print them together then the headers will print.
This seems to be an issue with IE7.

One thing I noticed, is when the header does not print, the font gets compressed to a much smaller font.

In Page setup try choosing Memo style and the set the page margins top and bottom to zero, worked for me

Here is another work-around (until MS addresses the issue)

I’ve discovered that if on emails that don’t print the headers you first switch to landscape mode, they will print the headers correctly. You need to do it through the Outlook Page Setup function for it to work correctly. To do this:

1. Click on File and choose Page Setup
2. Choose Memo Style
3. Select the radio button for Landscape
4. Click OK

This setting will be for this email only and only until you close it. The default setting will still be Portrait for other emails. This will at least let you print the missing information on these random emails until Microsoft releases an official fix for it.

Have found in the company i work for that when installing ie7, it doesnt automatically set a HTML editor in the programs tab, had to, (on the machines with the no header printing issue) set microsoft word as the editor, the it started working.

We are using word as an email editor so it may not work for all, also, on these troubled machines, after we added the program as the HTML editor for IE, we had to re-create normal.dot for it to work.
