I am running Outlook 2007 with SP1 with BCM (SP1) on a Server 2003 R2 (SP2) with Terminal Services. The BCM is on a SQL 2005 machine.

Every few minutes for all the users, they will be doing something in Outlook (ie typing a new email) & it will freeze for a few seconds. They will then have to stop & wait for Outlook to unfreeze.

Any suggestions?

hi!

we have the same problem, but with only a few computers. our operating systems have been upgraded to both vista ultimate and business. when we take the laptops out of the office, then they speed up again and outlook doesn't freeze. i thought it may be our server, but majority of our laptops are fine. we believe that it has to do with the number of emails sent/received a day on these laptops, or the fact that BCM is used so much.

would love to learn if you guys found a resolution.

I think we found what was causing the freezing. Bad MS programming. Turns out by default the BCM syncs its data with the main database once every second. Yes I said second. This explains why it bogs down with the more users added to it. There is a registry fix. I just started testing last week but the users that I did it for have not frozen once since. I changed the polling time to 2 minutes, instead of 1 second.

The key is under [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Business Solutions eCRM] add a DWORD value called PollingInterval
1000 = 1 second (So you have to do this for each user)

See this site for full details

Good Luck
