Post subject: Opening/saving a file

Does anyone know if it possible to solve this problem for me:

When I'm in an excel session I have it set up to open files at
"c:\", but when i save a file in another location, say "c:\test"
the next time I go to open/save a file it is at the location
"c:\test" and not "c:\" where I would like it to be.

Any ideas/suggestions would be great.

Not sure you can change this to default to a location without doing some hard core registry editing -

But an easy work around may be to add your default folder to the "my places" bar on the left hand side.

Follow these simple instructions
