We are using a helpdesk software that requires a MAPI link to our notes
helpdesk mailboxes. Win XP pro SP1 and Notes 6.5.1. The helpdesk software had
issues when trying to connect directly to notes via MAPI , so I turned to the
outlook / notes connector for Outlook XP.
We got the link to work using the connector. This mailbox is not a monitored
mailbox. It is used for mail integration to our helpdesk software and the
helpdesk management software checks for mails, integrates the mailed help
request and sends a reply back.
When it checks for the mail - outlook responds with..
"A program is trying to access E-mail addresses you have stored in Oulook.
Do you wish to allow this?"
It then gives me the option of allowing for 1- 10 mins. Once I choose yes
and the helpdesk management software tries to generate the reply mail.
outlook prompts with..
"A program is trying to send mail on your behalf, do you wish to allow this?"
now since this management console isn't monitored we can't have these pop
ups or the help request imports will be held up. Is there anyway to alter
outlook via Options or registry to have it allow the 3rd party software
access to the address books and send mail on it's behalf?
thanks
