Msg fails to move to trash after delete, how to move out o..

When I delete a message in outlook, it remains in the inbox. If I try to move
to another folder or trash, a copy moves to trash but the original remains in
the inbox with a line through it. How do I delete so it moves to the trash
and leaves the in box or other folder it is in?

Assuming this is an Imap configeration, purge the folder
