When I click the Spell Check button in Word 2000, an error message says it
can't find the files msspell3.dll and mssp232.dll. Have gone to Control
Panel/Add new programs and run the reinstall on Office followed by a restart
- no luck. Where can I locate those files and where should they be installed
on my PC?
Thank you in advance. |

You might get this error message if your text is formatted as a
language for which you do not have proofing tools installed. Try
this: Open a document where this problem occurs, press Ctrl+A to
select all of the text, click on Tools | Language | Set Language
| <choose your language> | uncheck the "Detect language
automatically" and "Do not check spelling or grammar" boxes |
Default | OK. Then press F7 to rerun spelling and grammar
checks, and save the document.

This will not help. What is actually happening is that my Outlook Express
won't enable the Spell Check button. What I can find on this says it is
dependent on other Office applications to supply the dictionary. When I go
into Word, I get the message about the missing dll files.

I guess I was misled by the part in your original post where you
said, "When I click the Spell Check button in Word 2000...".
