Archived from groups: microsoft>public>excel>querydao (more info?)

Hi!

I have a workbook that has three sheets. Two are MS Query pages that
bring data over from MS Access. One is a presentation worksheet (the
pretty one).

When I ran the two applications from my regular network drive I
experienced no problems in refreshing data and then having the vlookup
run properly.

I very recently moved the files to a shared drive. Since then I still
have no problem refreshing the data via my MS Query piece, but my
vlookup returns only #N/A. To fix it I have to cut and paste the
"lookup value" from the data page to the presentation page so they'll
match. Why does Excel/vlookup care if the data refreshed from my
network drive or a shared drive?

If anyone has any ideas I would be most appreciative.

Thank you!

Mrs. Rum

It might be that the values in your vlookup functions are written in a relative referencing mode. I think you must change them to fixed referencing (using the $ signs). Try it.
