When I create a document my spell check work excellent - when I receive
documents from other people and I am running spell check it keeps asking me
to turn the the spanish, french or german spell check - none of the words in
the documents are in any of these languages.
My language is set to English and it is sent to no detect. What is in these
other documents that is causing different languages in the spell check, they
are just straight text? |

I occasionally run into this problem but I have decided I would not
waste any time trying to figure out the where and why: I just select the
whole document (or the adequate selection) and set it to the language it
is supposed to be. Not very courageous but life is too short.

John's response on how to work with the problem is good
The reason for the problem is likely that those who wrote the documents had
language auto-detect activated, so Word was changing languages without the
writer noticing.
