One of my users is complaining that the images in her powerpoint
presentations are losing quality

She imports images as .jpg

She opens and saves the presentation frequently as she adds and edits
slides.

Is there an issue with jpg lossey files losing quality when the presentation
is saved frequently. Is there anything we can do about that?

Powerpoint 2007 but she had similar issues with 2000 and 2003 (and has had
some of those presentations through all three powerpoint versions)

She has recently changed to 2007 but the problems may have started in 2000
or 2003 where she has done mosf of her editing

If she's using the Compress Pictures feature, that would explain it (though
that wasn't availalble in PPT 2000). 2007 compresses pictures by default when
you save. Unless you turn it off, it's guaranteed to mess up images to some
degree or other.

And PPT (all versions) does tend to blur (anti-alias) images slightly when it
imports them.

But I don't know of any issues involving image quality degrading as the result
of repeated saves.
