I have written an icon shell extension for AXS files (bespoke format file)
which is working fine through windows explorer but not when the .AXS file is
attached to a message in outlook 2003. The problem is down to the filename I
am being passed by outlook which is always set to C:\WINDOWS\filename.AXS
Even worse, outlook express 6 passes me C:\WINDOWS\.AXS
This cannot be the correct location for any temporary file created by
outlook as a user may not have permission to write to C:\WINDOWS.
Has anybody seen this problem before? Any ideas on how to fix it?
