Hello!

Notebook IBM R40 - UltraNav TrackPoint scroll device does not scroll pages
in Word 2007.

p.s. The same scrolling works fine in Excel 2007.

Thanks!

Hi Ret,

One user reported that IBM computers may be using a 'Mouse Suite' program and that uninstalling it resolves this.

Another IBM user with a USB mouse reported that by using the Mouse settings in the Windows Control panel that adding Winword.exe
(with it's full path) in the Exceptions choice for 'Universal Scrolling' resolved the problem.

There are also some add-ins that can cause this, including Laserfiche and Flashpaper.

Thanks for the answer,

I havn't got the 'Mouse Suite' program or similar to it. I plugged a USB
mouse - it works nice, without any problems.
I've tryed to find some means to add Winword.exe file in Mouse and UltraNav
settings (Control panel) - unsuccesfully.
This TrackPoint Scrolling problem is olso there in VisualStudio 2005
Property Sheets, but in the Word 2007 it is very prominent and very
inconvenient...

Hi there

I have T43 and ofice 2007. I thing I worked something out regarding this
scrolling problems. I t took me arround 2 hours of searching on internet. I
did not find anything, so I switched to check all the possibilities in both
office 2007 and in access IBM settings.

solution which worked in my t43:
If you have active access IBM program:
- go to configure
-go to manage keyboard&pointing devices
-go to track point
- track point window shoud pop out
- click on mouse properities [you can go here easier from "control panel"
too (start-settings-control panel-mouse) if it doesn't work from access IBM]
- go to UltraNav fold (here is your tracking devicecontrol)
- at "track point" go to settings
- at "choose scrolling or magnyfying glass function" make sure you have
chosen scrolling. And here: propably you have "scrolling standard" (that is
waht I had). Click on settings and choose scrolling SMOOTH.
Click ok, ok, ok
Done
Let me know if it worked

I had a similar problem but with an external USB keyboard with trackpoint. I solved it by using marble scroll, baybe this is also a solution for your difficulties.

I described the tool in my blog:
